Where do I find the embed code for a video?

  • To get the embed code for a video published on Mynewsdesk, go to the page where the video is published on your public newsroom. Start playing the video, then click on the cogwheel (that appears to the right on the menu bar below the video), and click the Share icon (which looks a bit like <). Then click on the embed icon (</>), and lastly on Copy to get the iframe code.
  • To get the embed code for a video published on Youtube, go to the page where the video is published. Click where it says SHARE. Then click on the embed icon (<>), and lastly on Copy to get the iframe code.
Other video hosting sites, like Vimeo or Dailymotion, have similar sharing functions that allow you to copy the embed code.

Please note that a video that you embed needs to be published and publicly available. In contrast, it is technically not possible to show a video that has the draft status (on Mynewsdesk), or has been set to private or otherwise restricted viewing (on e.g. Youtube).
