Build your newsroom and set the default functionalities here.

Name – Put the name of your company here. This will be shown on the first page of your newsroom. 

Headline – This is where you enter your company’s slogan or motto.

Company description – Summarize what your business offers and what it does best. . This will be shown on your newsroom footer. 

Boilerplate – Give journalists the most important information they need about your company. A shorter version of your company description, this will be shown at the bottom of your press releases. You can change the boilerplate on each press release, but by adding a default here you avoid having to paste in  text each time.

       

Logotype – Upload a high resolution file of your company logo. We support GIF, PNG and JPG formats.

Icon – The icon is the same as the company logo but will be used in areas where the logotype are smaller. Make sure to upload it in GIF, PNG or JPG format. 

Links – These links will be visible in the footer of your newsroom. You could add a link to your own website here, for example.

Newsroom URL – Change the URL (web address) of your newsroom on mynewsdesk.com (eg. www.mynewsdesk.com/sv/fake-company)
Note: Make sure to only do this before you go live with your newsroom or if your company name changes. Links to previously published material will stop working if you change the name in the URL.

Comments – Decide how you want to handle comments in your newsroom. If you want to allow visitors to comment on your published material, if comments must be approved prior to being published and if you want to receive notifications about comments via email.

License – Specify the rights to your images, videos and documents. For more information about various settings, click the question mark icon next to the license you want to learn more about. What you decide here will become the default setting, but you can change the license for each image you publish.

Company Details – The address of your company will be shown on the footer of your newsroom.

Language – Choose the language of your newsroom interface.

Custom tracking (Professionals/Enterprise) – If you use Google Analytics, add your profile ID to gather all your online statistics in one place.

News carousel on the main page of newsroom – Click here to control how your latest stories are displayed.

Categorization –  Choose default areas for your content if you often publish content in the same subjects. By adding areas, you reach out to journalists who subscribe to material from Mynewsdesk. You can change them for each material you create to make the areas match the content for that specific material – remember to always stay relevant. 

By adding a subcategory, you will reach both subscribers of the main area as well as the subcategory. If you only add the main area, you will reach subscribers of the main area (not all the subcategories).

The same principle applies to regions. Add regions only when your material is aimed at a specific region and if you want to reach out to local journalists. 

If you decide to add a region, your material will be sent out to all recipients of your chosen areas throughout the country AND recipients of that specific region who only want to know about that region regardless of areas.

You may select up to 10 areas and 10 regions.

External sources
Include all your online communications and add your social media feeds into your newsroom.

Click Add feed, and select one of the following types: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr or Instagram. You can also add RSS feeds from blogs and other sites. You can move external sources around by clicking and dragging them to the place you want to put them.

Follow button
The follow button is found in your newsroom. When a visitor clicks on this button, they will automatically receive all your press releases, news and blog posts.

Make it even easier to be followed by adding your follow button on your own website, email signature or newsletter. Copy the entire code and paste it into the external site.

Don’t forget to press “Save changes” when you’re done!
