Mynewsdesk’s Media coverage feature is a smart function that automatically searches for press clippings matching the stories that you publish on Mynewsdesk. Media Coverage is currently available on Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and German newsrooms.

Where to find it:
Media coverage is an integral part of Analyze; go to Analyze > Your Content, click on the story that you want to analyze and switch to the tab Media coverage. Or simply click on the View hit(s) link that you’ll see in the list of your stories e.g. under Publish > Press releases (where you’ll also already see a quick overview of the number of hits generated by each of your stories).

How it works:
Media coverage does not rely on isolated search terms like a classical monitoring service would do. It is a more complex AI function that finds the press clipping based on various criteria.
In the main, we are making use of NLP (natural language processing). Without being too technical, we analyze the story that you publish, and divide it into many different text strings. Then we match the content of all the media articles that are being published with all these strings that we created. And when there is a match, we process it and show it as Media Coverage for your story.
Moreover, PR Impact will check for some more preconditions, e.g. that the article in question was published after the press release.

Missing hits?
As explained above, this is a press clippings function which works based on AI that requires a match much larger than if you search via single expressions only (via Google or classic media monitoring). When articles are not included in Media coverage, this is mostly because the AI could not detect a sufficiently long common sequence in the two texts.
However, in case you find any articles that you think should have been matched, you can always add those via the Add article button on the Media coverage site in Analyze. Here you can also Delete from feed if you should consider articles to be irrelevant to you.
Please note, though, that Media coverage cannot fetch media articles that are hidden behind paywalls.

Alternatives:
If you are interested in getting more extensive results by flexibly setting up relevant  search profiles, we suggest that you explore those options with Mynewsdesk’s first-class monitoring service called Monitor.
