A journalist account is a user account that allows you to set up email alerts in order to follow what is being published on Mynewsdesk. You may choose to follow specific newsrooms, certain topics or your own keywords.

Go to Stories to set up searches and save them as alerts. See and manage the alerts and newsrooms that you are following under Subscriptions. To follow a newsroom, just click the Follow button on Stories or on any page of a newsroom.

A journalist account cannot be used to publish any content on Mynewsdesk. A journalist account is always free of charge. For more information, and to sign up for a free journalist account, please visit https://www.mynewsdesk.com/journalist/.

A press officer account is a user account that gives you access to one or more newsrooms, in order to publish and distribute content, manage contacts, access statistics or to use our media monitoring features.

A press officer account is always created in connection with a newsroom. Either when you are creating a brand new newsroom (to get started with a newsroom, please visit https://www.mynewsdesk.com/), or after invitation to publish in an already existing newsroom (as specified in our FAQ How to add a new user).

A press officer account also includes all the functions of a journalist account. This means that if you are using a press officer account, you don’t need to have a separate journalist account. To access the journalist menu from a press officer account, you click on your name in the upper right corner, choose Stories, and a new tab will open with the Stories page.
